ABC Level 1 Training
Course Description
This 10-month class is designed to equip followers of Christ with the ability to apply the gospel in personal and specific ways to the heart and struggles of others. We will address both the theology and practice of gospel-centered counseling. Participants will be prepared to minister effectively to individuals, couples and families with a biblical perspective on change in the context of community. Issues such as addictions, anxiety, anger and depression will be covered. Space is limited.
This course allows the students to become Level 1 certified biblical counselors through The Association of Biblical Counselors. Students will read through the Equipped to Counsel curriculum and related journal articles, take exams, collaborate, role play, engage in a counseling practicum, and be supervised throughout the training process. Upon completing the course, your Level 1 certificate will be issued and your ABC membership must be renewed annually.

Who is this for?
Level 1 certification is ideal for pastors, elders, ministry staff, lay leaders, community group leaders, and essentially any believer wanting to grow in the one-another care we're all called to as the body of Christ.

Certification Options & Cost
Option One: Certificate of Completion from Summit Biblical Counseling Center (Auditing the Course)
Class, materials, graded class assignments, and observation
Completion of all assignments will earn a certificate of completion through Summit Biblical Counseling Center. You also have the option of attending class and not completing assignments. Choose the level of work that best fits your needs.
Cost: $200
Option Two: National Certification and Membership through The Association of Biblical Counselors
Class, materials, graded assignments, observation, practicum and certification through the Association of Biblical Counselors
Cost: $675References
Registration will require a pastoral or ministry reference, as well as a friend or spouse reference, to submit with their ABC registration. Please have this ready before submitting the ABC registration form.
